something fresh & spicy
on an overcast spring afternoon...
small wheat wrap, seared in olive oil
aged white cheddar
strawberry balsamic black pepper jam
habanero mustard
mixed spring greens
pickled onions
interpreting itself in form
multifaceted
each one into and through the other
where do you end or I begin?
referential identities
subjective awareness
embracing, discarding
integrating, eliminating
separation within the human entity
perpetuating denial of divine singularity
delusion of survival
lonely fragments inside nothingness
only within the portal of the present moment
can we surrender
to our resistance of fading form
and radiate the essence of life
can we yield
to the nexus of being
and awaken to our primal purpose
can we open
to receive the call of love
and become whole again
our struggle persists as we defy our transience
clinging to humanity
searching for sustenance
through what is externally tangible
within structures of valued beliefs
inside reflective embodiments
attempting to grasp
elusive beauty
that can only be breathed in the suchness of quietude
as we pass each other by
recognizing a familiar luster
as we are welcomed through the other's smile
as we find warmth in the other's touch
may we delight in the realization
that we are only here for a brief time
and honor these sacred moments
of being within the human realm
